Shaw Industries Group, Inc. (Shaw), a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., brought together a team of associates, family members, customers, vendors and friends to join 22,000 runners and walkers for the St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend.
Shaw was the top fundraising team with 242 participants raising more than $580,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funds raised go to further St. Jude’s mission to find cures for childhood cancer and ensure that no St. Jude patient or family ever receives a bill for their treatment.
"This year, a mom whose daughter was a St. Jude patient thanked me and our entire team for what we are doing to raise funds and awareness for the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital," said Curtis Callaway, senior director of corporate social responsibility. "That's a humbling experience that shows how patients and families are tangibly feeling our support first-hand.”
