This hand-crafted ecology tour is a walking tour featuring approximately 4 miles of walking. During the walk, you will dive into the three different ecosystems found on the island. You will get to immerse yourself in the maritime forest along the coast, learning about what creatures’ dwell here and why it looks the way it does. Adventuring to the beach, you will get to see the incredible creations called dunes and learn why they are so important to the vitality of the island and its inhabitants and take time to comb for Sharks Teeth. Walking from one side of the island to the other, you will emerge into the marsh ecosystem and learn about its complexity and how it functions as a safety net for the island.

Bring your comfy walking shoes.

Backwater Cat Experience

Embark on an unforgettable 2.5-hour adventure with our new Go-Cat Boat around scenic Amelia Island and Cumberland Island. Drive your own boat while following an experienced guide through Fort Clinch, Cumberland Island, GA, and the captivating backwaters of Amelia Island. Explore beautiful marshlands, spot wildlife and sea creatures, and experience the thrill of our unique and speedy boats. During the tour, we'll make about a 30-minute stop on a stunning island for some swimming, shelling or to get up closer to the wild horses.

Backwater Fishing Experience

Truly one of the best fishing opportunities at Amelia Island comes from the numerous saltwater estuaries, flats, and inlets, all offering a wide variety of light-tackle fishing opportunities. Although fishing in these secluded waters is excellent year-round, the warmer seasons offer the best fishing action. Large schools of redfish, sea trout, and flounder are among the fish found in the fast-moving currents of our rivers and flooded oyster beds. Your backwater fishing guides carry a variety of light tackle on board for our guests, including spin, casting, and bottom fishing gear. We carry on board a variety of lures and baits to make your day on the water a memorable experience.

Sunrise/Sunset Sailing Experience

As you sail the Intracoastal Waterway and Cumberland Sound, dolphins, sea turtles, manatees and migratory birds can be found. Keeping your eyes North, Georgia’s Cumberland Island has inviting views of wild horses, salt marshes and pristine sand dunes. Head to the East where the Atlantic Ocean offers adventurous waters and breathtaking views.

Choose either a sunrise or sunset experience.

Kayak Experience

Explore Amelia Island’s salt marsh via kayak. Learn about the diverse ecosystem while focusing on birds, reptiles, and additional animals that inhabit the marsh. Geared toward all skill levels. You will be greeted by your Naturalist Guide at the Omni Front Drive and placed on a property tram which will transport you to Walker's Landing where your tour will depart.
Towels and Waters will be available at Walker's Landing as well as a safe place to keep personal belongings.
