Next Generation Manufacturing

Our investment of more than $1 billion in new equipment, new technology and new processes over the past few years keeps our operations on the leading edge of next generation manufacturing. Increasingly automated processes, from high-tech modeling and robotics to the use of real-time data, are helping us increase efficiency, optimize our use of natural resources, and ensure the quality and customer satisfaction for which we are known.

Because the increasing automation of next generation manufacturing processes requires even higher levels of technical skill and expertise, we partner with local schools, universities and learning institutions to support and develop programs designed to ensure the availability of a skilled workforce – and the future of our regional economic.

Global Strategy

As the industry’s global design and innovation leader, we’re dedicated to consistently bringing world-class products to customers across the globe. With more than two-thirds of the world’s carpet sold outside North America, we’re not only investing in the expansion of our US-based operations; we’re also expanding our global operations to ensure our ability to deliver Cradle to Cradle products to customers worldwide, using the same rigorous standards for design, quality, performance and safety our customers know – and expect.

Today, our global reach includes showrooms and offices in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, India, Mexico, Singapore, United Arab Emerites and the United Kingdom. And in addition to our extensive US manufacturing operations, our operations in Mexico and China allow us to more directly serve those growing markets.

Vertical Integration

We own the processes and facilities needed to produce the majority of our own ingredient materials and finished products – including carpet fiber, carpet backing, commercial and residential carpet, hardwood, laminate and LVT flooring. This gives us control of the manufacturing process and the capacity to reclaim and recycle many of our carpet products – and the infrastructure and resources necessary to drive sustainability through innovation across the entire product lifecycle.

Our vertically integrated infrastructure also gives us the independent resources, flexibility and adaptability to anticipate and respond to shifting market demand and changing global economic conditions. To ensure the continued success and viability of our business over the long term, we continue to invest annually in facilities, technology, automation, distribution, and most important, job and opportunity creation for our associates and our communities.
