How it Works

  • Program Structure: In our three-session co-op program, students alternate between semesters working at Shaw and taking classes on campus with their university. As students progress through the program, they are able to take on roles with increasing responsibility and may request projects that match their skills and interests. 
  • Eligibility: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and be registered with their university's co-op or career services office. Three completed semesters are required prior to starting a co-op position.

Opportunities

  • Industrial Engineering: Working on a variety of projects, students offer new perspectives and ideas to improve both productivity and quality. Improvement recommendations often involve costs, logistics and capital layouts.
  • Chemical Engineering: Ensuring the highest quality products, students have the opportunity to work with dye lines, laminating ranges, extrusion processes, chemical blending and quality testing.
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering: Students work alongside other mechanical and electrical engineers, participating in or leading projects related to equipment upgrades, new equipment installations and predictive maintenance. 
  • Information Systems: Students have the opportunity to work with IS/IT professionals in a rich and experimental learning environment. Students will work with the latest technologies and software while applying classroom theory.
  • Textile/Fibers Engineering or Yarn: Working in all levels of plant operations, students are involved in promoting safety, process control, and ensuring quality production requirements are established and met.

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, Textile Engineering, Wood Science or related discipline. Co-op or intern experience preferred.

Initial training takes place in Dalton, Georgia with permanent positions available throughout the southeastern United States. Following program completion, trainees continue project work until a permanent position is accepted.

A culture of learning, growth and teamwork is just the beginning. In our sales training program, we provide associates with meaningful experiences and give them the tools and resources to succeed. Why? Because by investing in our sales teams, we are investing in our future.

In our 12-week training program, sales management trainees are exposed to the full sales cycle. From customer service and credit, to distribution and reclamation, participants gain comprehensive knowledge and build valuable relationships that support their long-term success.

Initial training takes place in Dalton, Georgia with permanent positions available across the globe. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and a four-year Bachelors degree.

Career Opportunities

Shaw sales associates partner with diverse customers - from flooring retailers and dealers, to interior designers, building owners and facility managers - to deliver the products, experiences and brand stories that make Shaw a leading flooring provider. 

While in the program, trainees may interview for open sales positions that best match their unique talents and location preference. Following program completion, trainees are given meaningful projects until a permanent position is accepted.
